This guy was totally kitted out for a safari quest, but evidently got really confused about what continent he was on. Either that, or he is trying to be a trendsetter for “Safari Chic.” If the latter, he is to be commended for the consistency of his look. Sightseeing-ready green Range Rover, khaki suit (and socks!), utility belt… Yes indeed, we’ve either got a serious fashionista on our hands, or a cold-blooded elephant poacher.

Credits for this gem of a CREEPpl spotting go to Luke Odom, my awesome husband. We have this running joke about these couples we see in L.A. They grope incessantly. It’s like, “Oh, the light of day! Grope!” “Look, a squirrel! Let’s grope!” “Oooo, an ESCALATOR, let’s grope!” It is as annoying as it is pervasive. We’ve seen couples in various degrees of…public engagedness. But I think this pair takes the cake.

Overexposed

I was walking down my street when I heard a sound behind me. And then Mr. Speedy goes running by, clad only in the briefest of shorts, white crew socks, and black loafers. He didn’t have the body for it. But then, who does?

A great mystery remains. If he was out for his evening constitutional, why wasn’t he wearing tennis shoes? If he was fleeing from would-be assailants, why wasn’t he running any faster? If he got overcome by a sudden urge to run, then why weren’t all his clothes still on? If he was involved in some bizarre cause-awareness run, then why were there no companions? I guess we will never know.

Two CREEPpls for the price of one! Just look at these beauties. Never in my life have I seen the two extremes of pants heights standing side by side, bridging the generational and style gaps, both looking totally moronic. I can’t decide which is worse: the dude who’s lookin’ like a fool wit’ his pants on da ground, or the old timer who has inflicted a denim wedgie upon himself, and then teamed the painful look with navy crew socks (of varying degrees of elasticity), brown loafers, and moobs. Truly, I can’t decide.

Aat first, I thought that my eyes were playing tricks on me. It had been a tough day of interviewing for jobs, and I was all tuckered out by the time I boarded the bus for home. But then I realized that the gent WAS wearing a full turquoise suit, and with considerable panache. I have caught his face in a momentary lapse of security. However, he quickly resumed his composure, confident in the street cred he was earning by striding about in these vivid threads.

Away, into the wild blue yonder.

Luke and I were riding the bus home from work, and as soon as we boarded, we heard the sounds of a lovers’ quarrel. I hear her say, “I just really need some space right now.” We sat nearby in order to glean more juicy tidbits to bring to you, the CREEPpl Readers. And boy, did we succeed. The spat, or should I say, the heart-breaking, continued until we de-bused.

The gist of it was this: she really didn’t want the guy around, but wasn’t quite ready to kick him to the curb, so to speak. She needed a sugar daddy or a booty call, or possibly both, and he would do. So she was trying to let him down easy… but not TOO easy. But as these photos reveal, he soon got the full picture. Clearly a decent guy, he tried to be supportive. As she vapidly declared, “I’m just not in a very good place right now… You know, like… Like sometimes, I just wanna like, cook dinner for myself!” “Of course,” he agreed. “I totally get that. And you should be able to.” “Yeah…” she sighed. “It’s just like, yeah.”

She executed the break-up with all the poise her limited faculties would allow her. She sat primly and gave stiff body language. He tried to appear at ease, when it was obvious that nothing could be farther from the truth.

As to her choice of venue, we can only speculate. Maybe she chose the bus because it was a public place where the confrontation wouldn’t escalate. Maybe it had once held romantic significance and she wanted to eradicate the remnants of the connection they once shared. Maybe she just couldn’t handle the charade any more. Though I think, personally, that the latter is unlikely. Judging by her proliferative use of “Like, yeah… yeah,” I think she was a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

It begins to dawn on him.

Trying hard to make eye contact and appear supportive.

... Should I just get off the bus and catch the next one? Do I stay? Gosh... Everyone's looking at me.... They all saw me get dumped.
